01 — Test for Asbestos
Popcorn ceilings installed before the late 1970s may contain asbestos, which is hazardous to health if disturbed. If your home was built before this period, we recommend testing for asbestos before the project will commence.
02 — Prepare the Area
Before starting the removal process, we ensure the room is well-prepared. We Remove all furniture, cover the floor with drop cloths or plastic sheets, and seal off any vents or openings to prevent dust and debris from spreading to other areas of your home.
03 — Popcorn Removal
Depending on the job, we’ll remove the current popcorn or skim coat over top. Three coats of drywall compound will be applied over the course of three days. On the fourth day we sand everything smooth so you're left with a level 5 finish.
04 — Paint and Clean
Now that your ceilings are perfectly smooth it’s time to prime and paint. Our expert in-house painters will apply one drywall sealer coat and two ceiling paint coats. Once the painting is complete, our team will clean the area with HEPA-filtered vacuums to ensure a dust-free home.
